About the Author
KHIZR KHAN was born in 1950, the eldest of ten children, in rural Pakistan. He moved to the United States with his wife Ghazala, in 1980. The couple became American citizens and raised their three sons in Silver Spring, Maryland. Their middle son, U.S. army captain Humayun Khan, a graduate of the University of Virginia and its Army ROTC program, was killed in 2004 while stopping a suicide attack near Baqubah, Iraq. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Khizr Khan holds a BA degree from Punjab University, an LLB from Punjab University Law College, and an LLM from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court; the Washington, D.C., State Bar; the New York State Bar; and the American Bar Association. The focus of Khan's legal practice is on complex civil litigation, electronic discovery, health privacy compliance law, and civil rights and veterans' rights advocacy. He and Ghazala live in Charlottesville, Virginia.

It isn't a question of loving this book, it is a question of respectful thanks for Mr. Khan for having had the courage to stand up for his beliefs, for believing in the rule of law and for so carefully writing to explain it to our kids so that they grow up into decent human beings rather than narrow minded, mean spirited bigots and xenophobes.I cannot think of a better gift for your local school, your local library, or your kids and grandkids.Mr and Mrs. Khizr Khan make me proud to be an American citizen, just like them!
This is a good introduction to the founding laws and documents of our country, presented in a easy to read format. Good for older kids, and a good primer for curious adults. Very informative.
I am a patriot and student of American history. I appreciate Khizr Khan writing a readable book explaining our U.S. Constitution that's approachable for middle school students.
This is a great and well-written book. I am giving copies to my grandchildren and other young people. Especially in times like this, it is important that all Americans understand our Constitution and the values that it stands for.
I love that Mr. Khan teaches the Constitution with storytelling. It is more easily understood and retained. This is a youth level book - perfect for my daughter's classroom (my daughter is a teacher).
I like this book. It is a well documented, straightforward presentation. There is no propaganda here. Mr. Khan's personal observations reflect his respect for and honoring of the Constitution. If only our politicians were half as knowledgeable about our founding principles and a tenth as dedicated to upholding them.
Engaging, and easily understood
It's a good kid level explanation of the Constitution. It's a little above my 7 year old niece though, so I'll give it to her next year.
